Sky Media GmbH: Automating marketing processes
In 2025, we gained a strong partner in Sky Media GmbH, whom we were able to support in automating their marketing processes. This included consolidating central processes in digital advertising marketing and focusing on the media business beyond programmatic advertising.
The result: Sky will be relying on our software solution from Wuppertal in the future. And we think they are right to do so.
RTL Ad Alliance: international customer for our cloud service
A real coup: we were able to win RTL Ad Alliance as an international customer for our new cloud service. The project was clearly structured and customer-oriented, from the review and planning to the implementation and handover of the cloud infrastructure. Transparent, clean and without drama. Just as you would want it to be.
Focus for 2025: Digital and TV merge
A real highlight was the integration of the TV process chain into Nautilus4Digital. This allows us to map TV marketing within the same system environment in which digital processes also run. No media discontinuity, no system hopping, less stress in day-to-day business.
Among other things, we have covered discount agreements, price lists, order management, advertising island administration, booking calendars, motif management, detailed planning, billing and reporting. Selectable for spot by spot, CPM and programmatic TV bookings.
Our customers are happy: Nautilus brings TV and digital together in one system environment.
Product development: We didn't just build, we improved
2025 was also a year in which we didn't just churn out new features, but specifically made things better and more usable. And by that we don't just mean the many UI improvements that allow you to see more data at a glance.
Task management: completely redesigned
In 2025, we not only modernised Nautilus' task management system, we completely rebuilt it. Our goal was clear: tasks should be processed and completed more quickly.
To achieve this, Nautilus now displays changes in a real-time view so that everyone can see immediately if a task has changed. Another new feature is manual tasks, which can be flexibly combined with automatic tasks. This creates a task list that neatly combines standard processes and individual tasks.
Nautilus has also become much more flexible in terms of assignment: tasks can now be assigned not only to individual persons, but also to entire teams. In addition, there is a preview of the detailed view so that important information can be captured more quickly without constantly switching between views. Read receipts for stored notes ensure greater accountability. This makes it clear who has seen the information.
Nemo: our search engine, now with real punch
Nemo, the Nautilus Explorer module, is the internal search engine for our flagship Nautilus. In 2025, we completely revamped it and made it significantly more powerful.
Our customers benefit above all from dynamic filters that can be used to narrow down hit lists and from new dashboards that provide a quick overview of complex issues. In addition, there are personalised layouts so that everyone can customise their interface to suit their everyday needs.
Another new feature is search within search: results can be refined directly without losing context. Search queries are now also saved so that previous queries can be easily reused. In short: exactly the secret weapons you really use in your day-to-day business.
New chatbot: Help that never sleeps
Yes, in 2025 we started rolling out a chatbot for Nautilus. And it's for all Nautilus users.
The chatbot helps with typical beginner questions about navigation, functions and explanations of terms, as well as frequently asked questions from everyday use, around the clock. No waiting, no ‘I'll get back to you later’. And to ensure that the digital assistant is not just ‘quite nice’ but actually gets better step by step, we are continuously developing the service thanks to evaluation by the integrated feedback system.
Partner billing: Service provider billing made easy
At the end of the year, we also implemented the ‘Partner Billing’ module for RTL Ad Alliance Austria for billing service providers in the Refshare environment. Cleanly integrated, practically implemented, exactly as needed in everyday use.
New product: Managed Cloud Service
In 2025, we also launched something that our customers had been asking for for a long time: the Managed Cloud Service from SQL Service GmbH.
We offer it for hosting individual customer applications in the cloud, even if the whole thing is not linked to ISS Nautilus. And yes: including seamless integration into existing systems. Makeshift solutions are not really our thing.
Events: visible where it counts
In 2025, Jens Pöpelmann, managing director of SQL Service GmbH, was right where the AdTech industry discusses, decides and networks: at events such as Digital Bash on Tour, Online Ad Summit and Adzine Connect.
With topics such as AI, transparency and first-party data, he was not only active as a speaker, but also clearly present as a contact person and the face of SQL Service GmbH. This ensures a lasting external impact: practical, direct and at the heart of the community.
Outlook: And what do we do now?
You guessed it: 2026 won't suddenly become boring either.
Nautilus Academy: Knowledge transfer and qualification
In addition to the comprehensive manuals and chatbot, we are preparing the ‘Nautilus Academy’ as a digital learning platform for knowledge testing and certification. Users can test their know-how there in structured tests and, upon successful participation, receive a certificate and a digital badge that can be integrated into professional networks such as LinkedIn or Xing.
In addition, a specific company certification for media companies is in the planning stage to make expertise visible, secure knowledge in the long term and further advance digital professionalisation in the industry.
Short notes: Say goodbye to paper clutter
Many users tend to organise their information using their own unique system: sometimes on scraps of paper, sometimes on Post-it notes stuck to their screen, sometimes in Outlook, MS Notes or somewhere in between. With the new Short Notes module, information stays in the system and no longer ends up in the Bermuda Triangle of paper, desktop and memory.
It works like digital Post-its for users and serves as a practical scrap of paper for quickly and easily storing temporary information. And, of course, it's also suitable for notes that are relevant to the entire department.
What else?
And yes, there are still a few things in the pipeline that we're not allowed to talk about yet. That sounds a bit like ‘we're far from finished’. Fortunately, because if we're honest, what would be the alternative?
So we're not ending this year with a full stop, but with a promising comma.
